Hi.
This is Somil Makhija.

It was a cold evening in late December or an early afternoon in the mid of June, I cannot seem to remember.
As per my schedule, I was laying down and staring at the ceiling. It is a hobby of mine – staring into nothingness.
While doing this activity, I realised that I need a better form of expression.

Facebook wants me to behave a certain way for friends and family.
Instagram wants me to be a photographer.
LinkedIn wants me to write intelligent content and be serious.

There is nothing wrong in what they want from me. But I cannot behave in a linear way.
Therefore I would end up cracking jokes on LinkedIn and writing deep work related ideas on Facebook.
As Walt Whitman said, “Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself, (I am large, I contain multitudes.)”

And hence with this thought, this website was born.
I have been blogging on and off since 5 years now. Having a website meant purchasing a domain and linking it with the blog.  Also, as a kid from the 1990s I always wanted to have my own website (Yahoo Geocities was a thing back then).

What is this website about ?
This is my scrapbook, my journal, my blog, collation of my serious thoughts – it is like a 5 in 1 subject notebook.
[I think I am going overboard with the 90s references].

Who is the target audience for this website ?
I have not made any segments. Anyone who likes the content I write is my target audience. 

Do I wish to achieve anything from this website ?
A personal brand,  followers/community, email subscribers, admiration ?
Nothing right now. We will figure out along the way.

Till then, please have fun. Treat this website as a leisure park. Stop and admire if you like something.
